Researchers from the AIDE Project and the Osaka University AI Hospital Project welcomed a delegation from the US

On Friday 15th November, the AIDE project team welcomed a delegation of top 18 physicians, researchers, health policy administrators who were visiting Japan as part of the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative/JHF STUDY TOUR TO JAPAN 2024 Exploring the Frontiers of AI Technology and Senior Housing Models.

Professor Beverley Yamamoto and Assistant Professor Atsushi Kogetsu gave two presentations on the AIDE project offering and overview and specifics on work package 5 (stakeholder focus group interviews) and work package 6, a Q-sort survey of attitudes to healthcare AI.

Following on from this, Professor Ryo Kawasaki introduced the AI Hospital project.

Following the presentations, we had a lively discussion about the introduction of AI technologies into healthcare in Japan and the USA, issues concerning enhancing the benefits of researcher-industry collaborations, and the importance of Patient and Public Involvement.
