AIDE Project leaders meet with a Member of the European Parliament

On the 19th May, the leaders of the AIDE project from both Osaka University and the University of Oxford had a zoom meeting with Ms. Maria Leitão-Marques, MEP for Portugal who is also serves on the Special Committee on Artificial Intelligence in a Digital Age (AIDA) .

We gave a short presentation on the AIDE project focusing especially on the role of the Patient and Public Involvement Panel (PPIP). In addition, discussing the project, Ms Leitão-Marques was very interested in the AI technologies being developed at Osaka University Medical Hospital through the AI Hospital Project. While a short meeting, we were able to better understand some of the regulatory issues emerging around AI in the European research space.
